Gather up the gang and come on over for a good ol’ time!

No program for July 7th – July 17th

Week 3 – Now You See It (Visual Arts)

Friday, July 24th @ 6:30
Art Show:
Enjoy the display of all the kids’ creative work over the past 3 weeks.  When the show is over, your child’s artwork is available to take home.

Week 4 – I’ve Got Rhythm

Crescendo:
Meet the Philharmonic’s mascot, Crescendo, during this musical program.

Week 5 – I’ve Got Rhythm

Tuesday, August 4th @ 6:30 
Instrument Petting Zoo:
Children get acquainted with a variety of musical instruments up close.  Touch, hear, play the instruments, learn how musical sounds are produced and possibly spark an interest to take lessons.

Week 6 – Ham It Up!

Outdoor Movie Night:
We’ll be showing a Pixar movie on the library lawn.  You bring the drinks, we’ll supply the popcorn!  You can even make your own popcorn cone.  Don’t forget a comfy seat! (Rain Date: Sat. 8/15)

Week 7 – Dance and Move

Dance Party WP
Get moving with all your favorite party dances from the Electric Slide and Macarena to The Twist and The Hand Jive.  Or take your turn playing Dance, Dance Revolution!

Week 8 – Free Play

Thursday, August 27th @ 6:30
Scavenger Hunt
Follow clues and collect puzzle pieces.  The first family to get back to the library with the completed puzzle wins a prize!

Parents as Reading Partners Program

The Parents as Reading Partners Program is for pre-readers or very early readers. This program requires the willingness of a parent/guardian to participate in reading a book to the group and is designed to encourage families to read aloud together.

Week 1 – Now You See It (Visual Arts)

Thursday, July 9th @ 1:00
Each child decorates a letter from our slogan, “Imagine, Create, Participate!”.  All letters will be strung together to act as a banner to display for the entire duration of the Summer Reading Program.

Week 2 – Now You See It (Visual Arts)

Thursday, July 16th @ 1:00
Sign up your child to participate in creating a Community Mural.  The completed mural painted by children of every age will be on display during the Family Art Show on July 24th.

Week 3 – Now You See It (Visual Arts)

Thursday, July 23rd @ 1:00
Using Matisse as a model, children will create a cut and paste masterpiece. Each work of art will be on display during the Family Art Show.  After the event, the masterpiece is yours to take home.

Week 5 – I’ve Got Rhythm

Thursday, August 6th @ 1:00
As we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a musical note is given to each character.  Children guess which character is performing in the book by recognizing the different notes.

Learn about tempo as children follow a drumbeat by walking, tiptoeing, flapping arms, clapping and spinning.

Get ready to shake, rattle and roll with this easy egg shaker craft.
