Water Treatment Services

Iron, Manganese, and Sulphur Removal Systems

Iron, Manganese, and Sulfur (hydrogen sulfide gas) are three of the most common contaminants found in well water. Iron will cause discoloration and brown or red staining in your plumbing fixtures and laundry. Manganese will cause brown or black staining. And sulfur or hydrogen sulfide gas will cause a noticeable rotten egg odor, plumbing corrosion, and possible black stains. Valley Water Services can install a treatment system to remove all of these contaminants, guaranteed. We offer the following treatment options:

  • Greensand Oxidizing Filters
  • Birm Media Filters
  • Dissolved Oxygen Generators
  • Centaur Catalytic Carbon Filters

Neutralizing Filters

Water is considered acidic when the pH is below 6.50. This is also a fairly common issue with well water in our area. Acidic water will cause corrosion of plumbing components and possibly contribute copper and lead to your drinking water. If you have acidic water you may experience green staining of your plumbing fixtures and corrosion or leaks in your plumbing system. Valley Water can install an acid neutralizing system to solve this problem. We offer the following treatment options for acidic water.

    • Calcite media acid neutralizing filters
    • Corrosex media neutralizing filters
    • Sodium Carbonate Injection systems

    Carbon Filters

Carbon filters have the ability to remove many organic and inorganic chemical contaminants from drinking water. Municipalities add chlorine to the water as a disinfectant, giving the water a swimming pool odor. A whole house activated carbon filtration system from Valley Water will remove the chemicals and improve the taste of your water.

      • Coconut shell activated carbon filters to remove chemical contaminants and improve taste & odor

      Water Softeners

Most water in our area contains the dissolved minerals calcium and magnesium to some degree. Water is considered hard when it contains five gpg (grains per gallon) or more of hardness minerals. Hardness will cause scaling in your plumbing system, especially the hot water system and appliances. Valley Water offers several models of water softeners from Pentair Water Treatment / Fleck Controls to effectively remove the hardness minerals and extend the life of your water heating appliances and plumbing system.

        • Metered regeneration water softeners
        • Time-clock regeneration softeners
        • Twin tank water softeners

        Ultraviolet Disinfection

UV systems treat the water for the whole home, eliminating 99.99% of bacteria and viruses including chlorine resisitant cysts that are not tested for in routine water tests (such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia).

Popular forms of filtration are not effective. Chemical disinfection is not effective against Cryptosporidium and Giardia, water filtration is not effective against bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms. Reverse Osmosis (R/O) is not recommended for use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
