The MRC utilizes the biopsychosocial model to diagnosis. It is our belief that a proper diagnosis is the key to determine the most effective treatment. The family operates as part of a system, in which each member influences one another. Therefore, the entire family must be acknowledged from the beginning intake throughout the entire course of treatment.

We believe in acceptance and non-judgment of all. The counselor's role is that of a neutral facilitator, not a "side taker." The most modern techniques and interventions are utilized including: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Couples Integrative Model, and Behavioral Couples Therapy, all of which incorporate the idea that counseling should be:

• remain in the here and now
• skill building
